The reconstruction of Bronson Avenue is part of the Ottawa on the Move initiative, a push to effect roadwork and bridge repair, sidewalk upgrades, sewer and culvert improvements and cycling infrastructure investment across Ottawa. These projects are being accelerated in advance of construction for Ottawa’s Light Rail Transit project and the celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary in 2017.
Douglas & Ruhland Associates helped make Bronson Avenue more pedestrian friendly, introducing seating areas and maximizing tree planting.
Construction on Bronson Avenue North started in March 2012, and is now complete.
Public art by Andrew O’Malley, Community Channel, at Bronson Centre, was unveiled on Friday, 20 June 2014.
